This is our first full review of a Yeti product, we’ve featured some of their drinkware in articles and use them ourselves. Burly, is the word I would use to sum up their kit; rugged and well made. I think we will be featuring more in 2024.
The Yeti Camino 35L Carryall is a tote style bag that I have been finding extremely useful. Yes, I could use an Ikea bag or a plastic tubtrug but the Yeti 35L Carryall stands head and shoulders above all those: it looks fantastic and has some really good internal storage options that have quickly become very useful.

Absolutely awesome for lugging around damp hiking kit and keeping it organised in the boot of a car.
The Yeti Camino Carryall series comprises totes of three sizes: 20L, perfect for carrying around; 35L which we have been testing and feels the perfect size for keeping in the boot of a car and stuffing plenty of kit into and the 50L which would suit any activity with bulky kit. Think SUP, kayaking, sailing, winter climbing and wild swimming (plus plenty of other sports with bulky and sometimes damp kit). All have the same styling with rubberised outer and inner, webbing handles and daisy chain webbing on the outside. The wide, rigid base is super stable which enables the bag to stay upright and easy to delve into.

The large, stable base means it can stay upright on uneven ground. Great for cramming bouldering kit into on cold days.
The outer and inner are rubberised and with its welded seams the bag is waterproof, so once you throw your wet kit in water will not leak out. It also makes it easy to clean when, like me, you throw muddy hiking boots in for the journey home. The outside is super burly looking, rubberised with bar-tacked daisy chain webbing and Yeti logos – one being reflective and a large embossed logo on the bottom. The daisy chain webbing is very useful for attaching climbing gear onto and even tying the leading end of a rope into when indoor climbing, more of that in a moment. Two tote-sized handles are big enough for over the shoulder carries whilst the lower, rigid handles are perfect for quick grabs. There is a hook closure for when you need to secure items for a longer carry.
The internal section of the bag is excellent, again rubberised with welded seams at the bottom and sides. One of the most useful internal features I have found is the pop-out compartments at either end. These have been great when I have needed to separate items such as climbing shoes and chalk bags, flasks and other kit that I like to have quick to hand such as gloves. When they are not being used they just pop back flat against the size which then gives you more room. On top of that, there are two large, zipped pockets plenty big enough for all manner of stuff you want securing out of the way such as phones, wallets, glasses, earphones, hats gloves and such like. They are not quite big enough for stowing my iPad Pro but I could fit an iPad Mini or Kindle in. It would have been nice to have had a key clip in one of the pockets and at this price point would have been easy to include – but it’s not a deal breaker by any means.

Perfect for indoor climbing, it easily holds 50m of rope plus shoes and keeps your valuables secure and with you at all times.
I have been using the Camino 35L Carryall for two main activities: organising my hiking kit in the car and mountain huts and indoor climbing (as well as some outdoor bouldering sessions). It has been superb for them all, a truly amazing bit of kit. For indoor climbing, the bag will act as a rope bag so you can carry it around the climbing gym with your valuables secured in the zip pockets. For organising hiking gear it has been great for lugging kit to a mountain hut and keeping it all in one place; hardshell, insulating layers, boots as well as maps and guidebooks have all fitted in with ease.
So, the Yeti Camino 35L Carryall is a rugged and versatile tote that you will find amazingly useful for your outdoor adventures. Yep, the price tag will raise eyebrows but if you are looking for a tote that should last for many, many years then this is exactly what you are looking for.
The Camino 35L Carryall comes in 5 colour options. The SRP is £150 and it can be bought directly from Yeti UK.
