To kickstart summer, Patagonia had been on the road and supported ClimbOut (https://climbout.org/) for its second year, with the queer climbing community uniting together for a festival which is on a mission to increase queer presence and representation within indoor and outdoor climbing. It is the UK’s first queer climbing festival and takes place in the Peak District every year. It is the opportunity for queer climbers and allies to connect plus climb together at one of the many crags close to the event location in Thornbridge.

Patagonia has been on the road around the Peak District with their Worn Wear trailer, kickstarting the first-ever Worn Wear climb tour for the UK team. Having stopped in at the Keswick Mountain Festival, they made their way to ClimbOut to show support, get involved and repair climbing gear for the attendees. Representation and repair are two majorly important topics for our outdoor and climbing community to support and get behind – and they went hand in hand at this year’s festival.
Festival founder, Agus (AJ) Guardiola, was encouraged by the turnout in the second year of ClimbOut, with over 340 people there, including speakers and guests. “It was fabulous seeing so many attendees joining us for a second time round, as well as seeing all the new faces,” they explained. “Increasing the visibility and participation of queer outdoor climbers was our core goal, and seeing the Peak District crags full of our colourful attendees was a dream come true.”
