At CGR we’re looking forward to the new releases from Jöttnar and putting them to the test this winter, more details to follow but here’s a little taster to whet your appetite.
British mountain clothing brand, Jöttnar, is poised to release its 2018/19 winter range which will see an additional 11 new products join the collection. This will be the company’s most significant range expansion to date.
The new products include a 900 Fill Power waterproof down jacket for extreme-cold ski and snowboard descents, new shell and windproof items, Merino wool base layers plus a selection of synthetic mid layers. Additionally, the company will unveil its new proprietary waterproof, breathable shell fabric developed in-house, named SKJOLDRTM.
Product highlights include:
Ragnarök – a richly featured 900 Fill Power hydrophobic goose down jacket wrapped inside a waterproof, breathable shell. Designed for big mountain ski and snowboard descents.
Odin – a multi-discipline waterproof, breathable mountain shell built for the harshest of winter conditions. Made from SKJOLDRTM in a burly 70 x 140 denier grade.
Heimdall – blending technical performance features with luxury detailing, Heimdall is a winter weight, jersey-style Merino wool base layer.
Njord – a lightweight and minimalist hooded windshirt, made from a durable wind resistant fabric. A highly packable and versatile layer.
Launched in 2013 by two former marine commandos, Jöttnar continues to sell direct through its website. Tommy Kelly, co-founder, said,
“Our product improves year on year, with improved functionality, fit and finish across the range. The growing knowledge, craft and technology in Jöttnar are becoming evident, making this winter’s range the best yet.”
Existing items within the range are being carried forward and will incorporate new colour-ways and performance updates for the coming winter season. The new items will see a phased launch, commencing with the Merino base layers in September and the remaining products throughout October.
